FOR Parks Constitution 2024

FOR Parks is an Incorporated Society. In 2022 a new Incorporated Societies Act was passed that requires all incorporated societies to significantly update their Constitution (Rules) and to re-register as an incorporated society under the new Act.

Accordingly we have created a new (draft) Constitution and make it available for review by our members here.

We request that our members review this now, and that at our Annual General Meeting on June 23rd, 2024, we will request our members to approve this constitution. We strongly request that if you have any questions or comments on this constitution that you email us before the AGM to secretary@forparks.org.nz.

The major changes in this constitution are:

• Additional requirements for membership records

• Our quorum for AGM's and SGM's is now 10 members

• Additional qualification requirements for committee members

• Maintenance of a conflict of interests register

• Specification, in some detail, of a disputes resolution process (managing complaints)

• Our patron can now be appointed by the committee, without requiring a vote at each AGM

• We have provided for the appointment of FOR Parks life members
